Perry Slammed by Turkey for Saying Nation Led by Terrorists
Turkey’s government condemned Republican presidential candidate and Texas Governor Rick Perry for saying the country is ruled by “Islamic terrorists” and should possibly be kicked out of NATO.
.....
“Many would perceive” Turkey to be run by Islamic terrorists, Perry said in the first of two Republican Party primary debates in South Carolina yesterday. Some view Turkey’s leadership as terrorist because of their support for Hamas and the Gaza flotilla, Perry advisor Victoria Coates said, according to ABC television.
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan drew criticism from U.S. Republicans in 2010 after supporting an attempt to break Israel’s sea blockade of the Gaza Strip. Nine Turkish activists were killed by Israeli soldiers. He also hosted leaders of Palestinian group Hamas, recognized as terrorists by the U.S. and European Union. Erdogan, whose party is rooted in an Islamic movement ousted from power by a military-led campaign in 1997, says he is seeking to boost democracy in Turkey, including religious freedoms, as the country pursues membership of the EU.

Boy, they grow some pretty big idiots in Texas. Watching Rick Perry's death spiral has been one of the more fun aspects of the Republican primaries.
not JUST in texas unfortunately. consequently there's no-one to take down obama.
...anyone who sees a positive in strongly cultivating evangelicals' votes loses mine, sorry. don't theocracies strike anyone as a bad idea, yet?
perry's wasn't a spiral, but a full-on swan dive effectively.
kinda like when mccain picked sarah palin for VP, the stupid old fart. classic kamikaze move, when i thought he actually coulda won.
now we're stuck with obama's dreamerisms for a full 8, til a decent majority sees the crap he fully intends to bury us in. and he will bury us, AND he'll make sure it's irreversible with his idiotically unshakeable blind faith.
'trust me. let the govt run health care - we're experienced'
yeah, experienced in royally f*cking things up.
living here is NOT going to be 'fun'.
